We are still caught up with It’s Always Sunny in Philly, and the same goes with Below Deck (airs tonight). We have a new Lioness and it was a big one. Big Brother continues to be excellent this year. A new Reacher, Ted Lasso and anything else we can speak about on the Sunset Daily!

Oh, I will let this week’s The Challenge go by since it was a bit anticlimactic with Corey leaving because of his daughter’s health. Nelson tried a mutiny and that failed. I think that was it in the challenge without needing to review it. I hope Corey’s daughter is OK.

I want to analyze the shift with Yash aligning with the two vets.

Personally, I am glad because I am rooting for the vets. I also have the New Jersey thing with Yash, plus, I think him, the two vets and that’s about it, has had excellent all around gameplay. Drew is behind on a few levels and for what it is worth, he does put himself out there and in the end, he was loyal as far as I can remember. At the same time, when confronted with it, he buckled and I am not sure why. That will eventually come out for them in the footage when everyone watches it back.

It’s now Sunday in the Big Brother house and the everyone was up for a while last night in the pressure-cooker Veto comp that lasted 14 hours. That was after the 1881 Western challenge where they have water squirted at them out of fake cactus and they have to catch it in their hat. They have to then fill up a tube until the ball pokes through the hole at the top in order to win the Veto.

I honestly cannot believe the bribe was still in affect. I feel like that bribe lingered as part of the play now for many weeks. Last night was also one of the the more important comps of the season for Drew. He was literally battling for his BB life. As for the strategy, I have to think about it but again, if the bribe was really in effect, man oh man did Dee and Devon’s get a ton of mileage from it. For 5K too which is not a lot when it comes to the BB game. This week, the nom’s need 3 votes to be safe or 2 if Yash votes their way. Like I alluded to above and last week, why Drew gets so stymied when it came to telling the truth was odd to me. He was not lying which is the craziest irony and he could not for some reason, say the words to defend himself which was the truth. How hard is it to tell the truth?

Regardless, him vs Melody, he would be gone. Melody is a horrible player and so is Taylor. If they somehow win or even have a chance at it, its a huge flaw in the game. You have got to win stuff. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, like Latisha or whatever her name is which granted, it was the beginning of the end of her demise in the house, even she won HoH one week.

The comp started on the Feeds at about 4PM West Coast time and as the Maryland Game was ending on Saturday. It was already happening though leading up to it and remember, there is no narration on these feeds. This was old school too. It lasted like 12 hours or 14 total which is unheard of today on BB play. The endurance challenges always crack me up. Someone will fall and because of edits, it seems like they are all up there for like an hour and its always 13 Minutes or by 25 minutes, everyone is already knocked down and the challenge is almost over. Especially on that wall which I would never ever in the history of life, lose that competition. How hard can that be if you tried? The worst thing that happens is that you get wet with maybe artificial color. That is one anyone can train for to win. Regardless, this ended at like 3AM PST and even that in the end, took a deal Yash not to win it. It just happened to last 14 hours yesterday.

Yash’s deal with Drew was that he could not vote out Taylor on Thursday and that he cannot nominate Yash during Drew’s next HoH. Yash, agreed and then in turn gave up to Drew. Dee and Melody were knocked out of the comp early. It was then the men before Devens ended his play. Barrett in the end, ended which then gave way for Drew to work out the deal with Yash.

Yash is safe then, during Drew’s HoH and also, he cannot vote out Taylor if she’s on the block. Which, she will be the renom tomorrow and again, Drew cannot vote her out now that is in play. Wow. Have you seen so many moving parts like this and not only that, they are also all pretty monumental plays. This is some quintessential or honestly, some of the better BB play I have seen in years. There is a lot of good play by a few players. In reality, this was the best out for Yash because he was beat. He knew he could not last any longer. That’s why the deal. Otherwise, Yash does not have that much to lose although I guess Drew could feasibly put him the block.

There is no way Drew can go back on this deal. That would be stupid and even still, short sited. If it is Taylor vs Melody to me, I would not notice who and what left and I wish they would get out of the game sooner than later. If they somehow make it to the end, they would have to admit that their strategy was to literally do nothing. I forgot about Barrett. If the Vets and Barrett vote together or the same way, no deal matters. The vets could easily vote any which way while still holding their cards close. However, they do owe Yash big time.

The episode tonight is delayed a half an hour or so already now at 5PM EST. If football lingers, so will that start time.

Now, we need to get the bad guys. “Man, I’m so passed trying to figure out what the fuck this was,” said Tucker, aka LaMonica Garrett in real life.

I think I mentioned it last week that when it came to that story line, I am a bit lost and anxious to get it back to normal. Everyone was lost. The CIA had played catch-up the entire season. Taylor Sheridan prolonged the “Who kidnapped Joe?” thing bringing us all over place and back and even still, a bit in the air though relieved they can go on offense. If it were that woman, the Russian double agent or the Ukrainian which again, I cannot even remember what she is in this overall story line. I just feel like its too easy for Sheridan. I am leaning towards the mole just because of the script write and that is it. Sheridan is deep. He goes many layers to make things real and accessible. In one respect, this is a huge attack and total breach of espionage to allow such an operation to occur, and at the same time, these attackers acted a bit reckless without really thinking as far as those layers go, it is way too easy to call it a Russian attack. These people were a bit in your face without taking that extra security level. They did speak some language but everyone still seems up in the air as to where that came from.

The first episode which I cant believe does not come into play here outside of it coming in fast and furious opening the eyes of the world to today’s warfare. I am not sure how that fits into the overall story line besides that diversion they bring up this episode. Then, things settled till this episode. I needed that calvary to get the hell there because that 6 miles may as as of taken an hour for them to arrive. Those guys are so cool. The fact that we have one more episode to hopefully find out the why and who dunnit for real was no doubt spelled out a few times in this latest episode. I am not sure if we will have direct resolve. What also was wild was Morgan Freeman’s character all about stating that he would be ordering a murder which I am fine with if she was the mole.

If that woman did leak a home address of some person in our military, those are fighting words to say the least. You need to go. To involve normal civilians let alone a family is off limits.

For what it is worth, these good guys are the types of people that have kept us safe since 9/11, 25 years ago. But, this is chess as the Secretary of State thought out loud by saying it. You need to be a few steps ahead of the game and those are the layers I mean in these story lines that are deep. What I mean is that Sheridan’s politics were always edgy because he is not at all against pointing out our mistakes which honestly, humanizes things a bit as the characters execute these roles pretty great.

Not anyone could do this type of work. These characters are also ones that probably would not be successful doing any other types of work. Remember how all of season one was all about the newbie, Cruz Manuelos played by Laysla De Oliveira. Ironically at that time, she was forced to act based on being a newbie and an outsider for the most part. In the end, her entire mission in part helped destabilized world oil prices around the world and that they ended up being killing machines that killed many people in their way. It is essentially what broke her down.

I have to admit that it was a bit awkward for me to see Joe so vulnerable let alone be held by Cruz in the outro scene and honestly, I was not sure why. Maybe because you never see these characters to be so vulnerable. When she continued to run away from what were her ex and dead captures was telling too. Those tortures are nuts and yeah, I also guess that is why you have ten toes. Overall, we still have yet to know the why and by whom or what created this hot mess.

I also did not realize how our Ken Doll, CIA Officer Kyle McManus and Joe were not so great towards each other. I knew they had disagreements and had some exchanges, I did not realize how Joe did not expect him to be the one that truly intercepted the crew that took her. That guy is a bad ass no matter what people think about the CIA’s license to kill because these guys kill with immunity and yes, there is accountability that rises to the top of our Government. They can pretty much get away with anything if it is called being at ‘war.’

The irony of this entire fiasco and this season’s sub plot, is that Joe’s vulnerability is shown the entire way and honestly, on many issues like even family life. And, dealing with your kids and husband. The season does not culminate without her being rescued. We can now see if the CIA and its foreign diplomacy ever can stop shooting one self in the feet.

More irony is that even when they finally get it right, they still do not know whom or what did it and why it was done. I digress because they also made no bones about that mission first and foremost, which was get Joe. The intro that we have seen into that is Joe saying that this job itself was not done. That was reiterated when she exclaimed on one of the last lines of the episode this week, and during a conversation with her husband, they they need to get the bad guys. Morgan Freeman’s character, whom is the Secretary of State, is still below the POTUS who we have to assume is being kept clear of knowing about any of these operations. Are we supposed to be angry that they are trying to figure things out on what seems like a basic thing, however and like I alluded to above, if you expect this to be a basic ending, don’t. It is not going to be and honestly, my main fear is that this ends unresolved or that it is the lead in to the next season. I want to know who did it and then I want to move on to more missions.

In real life, our highest levels of our national security were not on top of some major disasters even with intelligence hitting them in the face and well ahead of those disasters. Therefore, it is not so far fetched that a story or mission we civilians would never hear about, does not know what enemy walked up to a home of top agent, and not only kidnapped her, but they also tortured and maimed her. Granted, LaMonica Garrett said, “figuring out who the fuck this was” has taken up 100 percent of the plot which is fine. I happen to like those boardroom meetings with CIA Deputy Director Byron Westfield played by Michael Kelly and with Secretary of State Edwin Mullins played by Morgan Freeman, especially when they rip into our so called enemy. Speaking of which, I think they said it a couple times, but this does not seem like its the Russians. I still do not know why Joe was not versed on knowing more languages and how to recognize them all in her training but whatever, it did not sound like Russians to me.

You know what I liked, how Kaitlyn’s character played by Nicole Kidman, and husband Errol played by Martin Donovan, chimed in with some great ideas and with great science behind his words. I love when smart people talk and most of all, after Kaitlyn spoke in front her husband and before Joe was gotten by our guys, I was saying that if I were husband, I would have asked for sex right after she hung up. That was hot. I am not even sure I find Nicole Kidman hot but I did while she was going off about dealing with the mission. I was daydreaming about being her hubby asking myself, how can we now ask her, during this mission, and before any resolve, to have sex with me right now because of how hot she sounded but anyway, instead, he does ask that maybe Ukraine set the kidnapping up with Russian agents to provoke the U.S. into joining the war. That was one of the layers I mention earlier that is deeper than any norm, but either way, Kaitlyn and Byron bring the theory to Mullins who does consider it.

“So, where do I move the chess piece?” the Secretary of State asks. “What is the chess piece?” I agree. Where do we go next Taylor? We have one more episode I believe to get this out and that’s going to be hard to do unless they somehow have the ability to work fast and direct at that enemy to pull it off in one hour.

I also got the dichotomy with local law enforcement which by that way, that was some really good policing at first but in no, way, shape of form should they have approached those SUV’s until not only more support showed up on the scene, they needed to know that the so called ‘calvary’ or our guys will be there in due time. “Those guys saved my life, man… Fucking guardian angels” however three did get shot down with ease before reinforcements arrived. I was yelling where is that bird for gods sake and I also yelled how this is a good time for the calvary to show up before he made sure locals knew this was sanctioned. I used the word calvary before they used it. I was anxious.

Overall, and without any science behind it, the kidnapping is now being blamed on Ukraine. Byron suggests to Mullins that they take out the double agent they promised to protect which is where we left off with pondering that next chess piece move. “It’s a lot to think about,” Mullins says. “Forgive me for taking some time to consider authorizing the murder of a woman.”

That was when the man, Michael Kelly says, It’s not murder to Byron, he says, “It’s war.” “No, Byron,” Mullins reminds him. “It’s murder. Is it something we must do? Maybe. But don’t ever delude yourself into thinking its anything different.”

What I am really wondering is the true significance with regard to Episode 1 this season and knowing what we know now which technically, is not much. I guess it is the Ukrainians that used the Episode 1 extraction in Donetsk as the way to then make it like it was the Russians to do it as a way to lure us into this war.

Freeman reminds Byron that no matter what side is shooting the weaponry, it’s the same thing and then as we also alluded to here, evidently, some of our people run a bit wild with those weapons. That license to kidnap, torture and kill the CIA seems to have in their pockets dates back to James Bond 007.

Speaking of layers, how about when Joe, with crazy PTSTD, call her husband played by Dave Annable to say that she will be home soon or after the mission is completed basically says it all. “When is it over?” he asks.

“I’m gonna figure out who is behind this,” she tells everyone, “and I’m gonna kill them.”

I must say that Joe is a bit reckless at times. It almost works out considering she did lose her toe but she is alive.

Reacher Season 4 Episode 7 Review: What Happened To Jack Reacher?

Reacher Season 4, Episode 7 starts off with John Sampson’s security guy played by Aaron Poole saving the two captured in that van where we ended the last episode and like we thought, they are rescued. Even though that did come a bit out of nowhere for him of all people, to save the day.

Then, we have to endure a ton of dialogue from this chemist, Leo Ahlquist, explaining one thing after another after another almost like one reenactment after another to eventually get the answers when Reacher had to break a few fingers. The final straw was when Detective Tamara Green said to Reacher to snap another finger which cracked me up and he therefore reveals the truth about the mysterious flash drive and photograph that started the season. All this dialogue and interrogation happen on the side of the road after Reacher bashed the chemists car into the woods.

We are literally watching people delete files. After getting the information from the chemist, Reacher realizes that the Hoth sisters can reproduce the chemical compound. Reacher then snaps the guy’s neck. His execution of Ahlquist, who posed no immediate threat and could have been arrested and placed into protective custody, or hauled off and left in a storage unit somewhere, he ends up killing. Tamara, a police detective who already gave in on the torture, simply says “I’m good with it” when Reacher kills Ahlquist. In defense, he did make the formula for money. And, when he states that what was killed were nobodies like a football player makes him less appealing. In the end, I am good with it too.

Jacob’s cliffhanger in the story line ends when Philly cop Docherty uncuffs him and tells him to get out of here after a slight interrogation here too. Docherty interrogates him for information and hearing Jacob reminded me of this part of that story line being a bit weak. Docherty has Jacob nail him in the head with the back of a gun and I would not do that to anyone. That was another stupid scene. Its unnecessary at this point. The only part of that scene that works is that Jacob does get to tell Tamara that he let him go because of her being a good cop.

Ahlquist reveals almost all of the backstory on the side of the word. He tells how he was in Indonesia back when General Putra was in charge. The CIA was running an off the books weapons platform, developing chemical WMDs before the terrorists could in order to come up with countermeasures. Ahlquist has been trying to cover up by sending out hit squads, however he modified the formulas as a way to make himself rich. Indonesia is where Sampson was posted, but he was considered to be a “Boy Scout” and would have “blown the whistle on the whole thing” if he did know about it. His superior officer and recent chief-of-staff, Cahill, was a part of the project, however, is why he followed Anna Merrick before taking a swan dive off the rooff.

We also find out that the formula is hidden in plain site in that photo but is only able to be seen with new AI technology. Amisha and Lila played by Agnez Mo are who is trying to get the formula/ I am not quite sure how she knew about that specific weapon and somehow knew how to use it. She also knew precisely where to find and extract it. None of this is explained nor is is it even real if you consider that we learn that Putra was killed by Sampson and his troops were driven off before the base closed. Amisha cannot even think that, “Oh that photo I took decades ago, I bet that has the formula to this WMD we discovered the Americans were making, and I bet I can figure out exactly where it’s stored and find someone in the government I can blackmail into getting it for me!”

We know that the Hoth sisters have a working WMD on their hands, but we also have no clue how Amisha knew to aerosolize the chemical compound as its way to weaponize it to work with large crowds. Its not truly based on any science and that is been the ultimate problem with the episodes since after maybe 4 of them. We are lingering through these story lines making things up a long the way as a way to hone it in as one big story.

When Jacob calls Reacher and Tamara and say that he found one of Plum’s contacts that the Hoths are planning to auction the formula off The Dark Web™ that next day. Reacher realizes that is the weapon. He also believes that the Hoths are going to target a large event. One that includes Sampson.

At first, they don’t find any chemical weapons or suicide bombers. Sampson realizes that they are targeting him at this event, as he spots the suicide bomber. The person the Hoths brought in from Djibouti.

Sampson spots the kid and after another flashback narrating the story line, that reframed Amisha plot as opportunity and revenge. When the security guard shouts at Reacher, the kid looks up, thinking he’s caught. Sampson rushes him, and the two go over the small railing and into the river. They explode on impact as Reacher overlooks the scene. We hear the outro song, “One More Fucking Time” by Motörhead.

I doubt Sampson or the bomber could live through that but who knows considering he is military elite. They could find some way to rationalize him getting through it.

That last scene with Sampson head of security, Springfield, finding the security guard dead and then Sampson’s wife was walking up in the background leave things up in the air for this weeks finale. Speaking of his wife, something isn’t right with her and so it would not surprise me if she’s somehow behind it with those Hoths. That would clear up some of the confusion about Amisha too.
