Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston to star in Max Barbakow’s upcoming body-swap comedy

Hollywood stars Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston have come on board to lead a body-swap comedy film from Palm Springs director Max Barbakow.

According to entertainment website The Deadline, Barbakow will write and direct the movie, which is backed by Margot Robbie’s production company LuckyChap Entertainment. Details about the plotline, title, and remaining cast are still under wraps.

The comedy feature marks Roberts and Aniston’s second project together after the 2016 film Mother’s Day.

According to The Deadline, Amazon Studios won a bidding war against four other studios and streaming services for a Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston comedy film.

Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment, Tom Ackerley’s LuckyChap Entertainment, and Josey McNamara’s LuckyChap Entertainment will produce alongside Roberts and her Red Om Films banner, Aniston’s Echo Films, and Barbakow.

Barbakow is best known for directing Palm Springs, the Andy Samberg-Cristin Milioti 2020 comedy that was purchased by Neon and Hulu for a then-festival record sum at Sundance. His original pitch inspired the comedy.

On the work front, Jennifer Aniston will be seen along with Adam Sandler in Netflix’s crime comedy Murder Mystery 2 which is set to release on March 31, 2023.

Julia Roberts received was nominated for a Golden Globe for ‘Best Actress in a Drama Series’. Roberts reunited with George Clooney for the romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise, which was released on October 21, 2022, by Universal Pictures.
