MUSCAT: Popular Indian stand up comic Kanan Gill is set to bring his two-hour comedy special titled ‘Is This It?’ to Oman Convention Centre, Muscat this February.
Taking the stage on Thursday, 2nd Feb for his first show in the city, Kanan is keen to give the audience an authentic comedy experience by showcasing his distinct delivery style, unparalleled observation, and a talent for injecting excitement into the banalduring his performance. “I am excited to be coming to Muscat for the very first time! Kanan Gill rose to fame with the YouTube series, ‘Pretentious Movie Reviews’ where he reviews flawed yesteryear Bollywood films in a hilarious manner. His partner-in-comedy in running this widely popular series is his fellow stand-up comedian BiswaKalyan Rath. The duo had stirred up a storm in the YouTube scenario in the Indian subcontinent with their over-the-top commentaries and super-funny personalities. They reviewed some popular movies such as ‘Gunday,’ ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, ‘Prem Aggan’, and ‘Aap ka Suroor’ which earned them a large fan following in movie-crazy India. As of January 2023, this hugely popular comic star has 781k subscribers on his YouTube channel, 70M+ views on YouTube, 559k followers on his Instagram account, 421K followers on Facebook and 778k followers on Twitter.
Kanan has toured extensively across the world with his stand upspecials. In 2019, he embarked on a world Tour with his Stand-up special “Teetar” across India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Doha, Bangkok, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands & North America. He also performed 3 Headlining Solo Shows at the prestigious Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2019 and did solo shows at the Sydney Comedy Festival, Perth Comedy Festival & Brisbane.
