Dancing on Ice has announced the first couple to be eliminated from the show.
Last week, Love Island‘s Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Brendyn Hatfield were the couple with the lowest combined judges’ and viewers’ scores and found themselves in the skate-off this week.
Hitting the ice this week were ex-footballer John Fashanu and Alexandra Schauman, former Hollyoaks star Carley Stenson and Mark Hanretty, Coronation Street‘s Mollie Gallagher and Sylvain Longchambon, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne and Colin Grafton, and comedian Darren Harriott and Tippy Packard.
Here are the scores each couple received from the judges this week:
The Vivienne and Colin: 28.5
John and Alexandra: 19.0
Mollie and Sylvain: 26.5
Darren and Tippy: 26.5
Carley and Mark: 32.0
After the viewers’ vote it was announced that John and Alexandra would be joining Ekin-Su and Brendyn in the first skate-off of the series.

After both couples performed a brand new routine each, it was ultimately John and Alexandra who were eliminated.
Following the result announcement, John told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: “It has been great. It has been wonderful. FA Cup final again.”
When Phil asked him if he would carry on skating, he said he would, and even had aspirations of going further with skating
“Oh yes, yes I shall carry on skating, and who knows, I might even start teaching it.”

Ekin-Su has been hitting the headlines for her opening show routine, which got over 100 Ofcom complaints, as well as Digital Spy calling out the misogyny involved following the backlash.
Dancing on Ice‘s creative director Dan Whiston has also defended Ekin-Su, saying: “It was completely inspired by the Britney Spears video, if you look at the ‘Toxic’ video and the outfit she wore, it’s very similar. It was a tribute to Britney, that’s where the inspiration came from and I think she carried it off really well,” he said.
“Not everybody is going to like everything, and the majority of people really liked Ekin-Su. She has a massive following, she’s super hot, and my jaw hit the ground because she turned it on.”
Dancing on Ice airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
