Home and Away star Matt Evans has revealed that the video for his new single ‘Over It’ stars several of his cast-mates.

Speaking on Australia’s The Morning Show Evans said his fellow Home and Away actors had been supportive of the song, with Kyle Shilling and Emily Weir even appearing as extras in the music video.

“You’ve got Mali (Shilling) there next to me. I had 15 extras in my house, we had a house party and we filmed it all,” he said. “A lot of them were Home and Away actors… so it made it really easy and we were just having fun.

“That’s Em Weir stepping over me in the red dress,” he added.

Asked by the presenters whether his cast-mates had charged their usual rates for the appearance, the actor joked: “It was very expensive, look I’ve got no money left now.”

Before making his debut as Theo Poulos in Summer Bay, Evans had appeared on The Voice Australia in 2020. Speaking about his musical ambitions, he added that the single had been a long time in the making.

“It’s been a long time in the making, I’ve been singing for 10 years,” he said. “It’s what I’ve been wanting to do for years.”

Evans previously revealed that the song was inspired after a difficult break-up with a former girlfriend, telling the Australian Daily Telegraph that she was aware of the track.

“She knows there is a song about that situation and was cool about it… actually happy about it, which is weird. I thought I should let her know,” he said.

Home and Away fans will be no strangers to his singing skills either, with the actor utilising his musical talents on-screen as Theo. Since joining the soap his character has been involved in multiple storylines, including a tumultuous past with his father, joining the band Lyrik and a blossoming romance.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.

Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
