Dublin-based blues rock band The Animal Gang have released their new single, Gimme Love. We asked lead singer Kris Finn the the BIG questions . . .
The Animal Gang was initially formed as a studio project between singer-songwriter Kris and producer Denis O’Neill and now features guitarist Carl, drummer Paul, and bassist Shakey.

Gimme Love follows previous singles, Like a Mine and Paper Plane, and speaking about the new track, the band say, “This song came about in a similar way to others we’ve made, we record a lot of the band rehearsals, especially the jam parts.
“Kris and Denis sat down and went through what had been recorded, looking for something tasty. Initially, it was just a couple chords played in a certain way which we then wrote an arrangement for and tried some vocal ideas too.”
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I’m a singer/songwriter, I make models for tv/film, and I love all things creative.
How would you describe your music?
I wouldn’t really put a label on the music as we have such a broad range of influences, we like to dip our fingers in all genres.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Adam Duritz, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, David Grey that’s just to name a few.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Plant and Page in the Point with my oul man, This, I suppose inspired me to wanna play and sing.
What was the first record you ever bought?
R.E.M. Out of Time on TAPE!
What’s your favourite song right now?
Sunny by Bobby Hebb.
Favourite lyric of all time?
“If dreams are like movies, then memories are films about ghosts.” – Adam Duritz.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Gabriel’s Oboe by Ennio Morricone. I think it would have to be a piece of classical music don’t think I could listen to the same lyrics over and over, but I could make a million songs to pass the time with an instrumental.
